This bracket is designed to create a Weaver base on top of AK and SVD type carbines, which allows you to install various optical, callimator and night sights on them.
For many side mount shotguns, the question of creating a universal Weaver rail is often raised. To create, you need to install an adapter bracket. The uniqueness of the bracket "Base Weaver SVD-AK" lies in its versatility. Since the sights of the AK family guns differ from the SVD family, it is necessary that the bar be able to be rearranged.
The upper Weaver bar is fixed to the bracket with 5 screws. The bar itself has a hole in each slot for these screws. There are 13 holes in total with a pitch of 10 mm.
In addition to the difference in the draw of the guns, it is also necessary to take into account the width of the receiver, which is also different. In order to align the bar coaxially with the gun, the base has two rows of holes under the Weaver bar. By rearranging the bar, you can achieve the desired result.
The bracket mount is a non-quick release clamp. Often this bracket is used for mounting night sights due to the large brace, so the shrinkage on the side rail must be strong. A clamping screw designed for tightening with a wrench acts as a clamp.
